Jenny Whiteman joins ¾µä´ó¹Ï as an Associate Counselor in the Integrated Student Health Center. Jenny was born and raised in Minnesota (where she remembers wearing snowsuits under her Halloween costumes). She pursued her Bachelor of Arts in History from Northwestern University, and then spent 14 years working for organizations planning large-scale
events (50,000-200,000 attendees) around the country and globe. The richness of these experiences, along with other volunteer and work opportunities, has enabled her to visit and spend significant time embedded in the cultures of 30 countries and seven major U.S. cities.
A career change spurred by the COVID-19 pandemic led her to begin her Master of Arts in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health through The Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. During this time, she completed an internship at Washington County Counseling and Victims’ Services. Prior to joining ¾µä´ó¹Ï, Jenny filled in for a counselor’s maternity leave as a temporary counselor for Eastern Oregon University, where she found her passion for working with students.
Outside of her clinical work, Jenny enjoys reading a good book, playing with other people’s dogs, having catch-up conversations with friends, and traveling when ticket prices are cheap enough.
