And just like that, my clinical externship is DONE! It has been a crazy, challenging, wonderful, overwhelming, fantastic year full of personal and professional growth. Anyone who knows me can assume (correctly) that I’m feeling allllll the emotions today, so I’ll keep it short…ish and simple…ish. I want to say the biggest thank you to my family. For letting me cry and telling me not to give up on the hard days, and celebrating my victories with me on the good days. And for believing in me every day in between. I want to thank the fabulous friends who kept me sane and laughing throughout this year. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for friendships that survived us being scattered across the country. And from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank the many incredible people I’ve met through Hoag and Newport Coast Cardiology. Thank you for taking me in, teaching me, not judging me, and answering my 800 million echo questions. I am so very blessed to have been surrounded and welcomed by so many kind souls this year. It’s crazy to look back and realize how far I’ve come, and so much of that is thanks to the techs who were willing to put the time and energy (and patience!) into training a newbie. And with that - I’ll be heading back to Klamath next weekend to celebrate graduation with my classmates and professors.
