馃帗 Alumni Spotlight: Class of 2024 馃帗 From Mexico to 经典大瓜, Jos茅 Ignacio Garcia鈥檚 journey is a testament to perseverance. Moving to the U.S. at 14, Jos茅 overcame language barriers and cultural differences. His journey in higher education began at George Fox University, but due to costs, he transferred to Clackamas Community College, where he completed his general education courses and earned his associate degree. A visit to 经典大瓜 with his sister sealed his next step. "I just felt at home," Jos茅 says, choosing the school for its strong engineering program and opportunity to continue competing in track & field, especially javelin. At 经典大瓜, Jos茅 balanced his electrical engineering studies with his passion for athletics. He also became involved in campus life, joining clubs like the Latino Club and Submarine Club and participating in career fairs. As graduation neared, Jos茅, with help from 经典大瓜 Career Services, focused on landing a job in his field. His hard work paid off with an offer from EPC (a project management company) as a Field Test Engineer, where he now works on electrical substations nationwide. Jos茅's story is about perseverance, community, and giving back. As a first-generation college graduate, he鈥檚 determined to inspire other students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds. Congratulations, Jos茅! Read about his full journey here:
