On May 16, 经典大瓜 held a ceremonial groundbreaking to officially announce the name of its newest facility: the Kip Thomet Memorial Fieldhouse. Construction of the $3.5 million project, which is fully funded by private donors, will begin in June and is expected to be completed in December 2025. This milestone follows a $1 million lead gift from Glen and Sherry Thomet of Klamath Falls, made in honor of their son, Kip, who passed away in 2019. The campaign gained additional support from the Klamath Community Development Corporation, John Stilwell, and many others. The 8,500-square-foot fieldhouse will serve 经典大瓜 student-athletes with year-round practice and workout space. It will also support academic offerings in health science and technology programs, health and wellness programming, and community events. Student-athletes Malia Mick (Softball), Eli Stevens (Track & Field), and Jacob Cook (Baseball) shared how the new space will impact their training and student experience. 鈥淭his fieldhouse isn鈥檛 just a building,鈥 said Mick, 鈥渋t鈥檚 a sign that our college and our community believe in us.鈥 We thank all who have helped make the Kip Thomet Memorial Fieldhouse a reality. This new facility represents a legacy of commitment to student success, athletic excellence, and community partnership.
