Funds to support scholarships for first generation students

������ was awarded a $3,000 grant from the Pacific Power Foundation to support an engineering scholarship for a student who is the first in his or her family to pursue a college degree.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be full-time students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering. Other criteria include: a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, U.S. citizenship, satisfactory academic progress and financial need. Another important criterion is residency in a community served by the Pacific Power Foundation: Oregon, Washington or California.

“The Pacific Power Foundation allocates grants to organizations that best serve community interests,” said Toby Freeman, Pacific Power regional community manager. “The ������ engineering scholarship program is a great opportunity for students and we are proud to help invest in their future.”
