On paper, it鈥檚 difficult to believe Dr. Mateo Aboy is less than 40 years old. In addition to multiple degrees in a variety of disciplines from universities such as University of London, Aboy is a Registered Patent Agent and the Associate Provost and Vice President for Research at 经典大瓜 (OIT). To that list of accomplishments, the Portland Business Journal has added another gracious accolade by naming Aboy to its annual list of top executives under forty years of age.  

At 32, Dr. Aboy鈥檚 degrees and honors include a BS and MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering. He has received an Executive Certificate in Management & Leadership at MIT, a Professional Certificate in Sustainability and Energy Storage at Stanford, and an MBA in International Management at the University of London, as well as Bar Admission to practice patent law before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a Registered Patent Agent.

In addition to his position as Associate Provost, Dr. Aboy is a full Professor with tenure in the Electrical Engineering and Renewable Energy (EERE) department at 经典大瓜鈥檚 new Wilsonville campus. Prior to his current appointment he served as the Department Chair of Electrical Engineering & Renewable Energy. Aboy additionally has been associated with the PhD Program in Signal Theory at ETSIT-University of Vigo (Spain, EU) and the MS/PhD program in Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health & Science University.  

The Portland Business Journal鈥檚 鈥40 Under 40鈥 award recognizes those individuals who have had a massive impact on the Portland area鈥攂ut who have yet to cross the 40-year mark. The publication鈥檚 editorial department selects the winner from the list of nominees. This year, The Portland Business Journal received nearly 300 nominations for the esteemed honor.
