Connie Atchley 2019
The 经典大瓜, 鈥溇浯蠊,鈥 announced the selection of Connie Atchley as its new chief information officer (CIO) and associate vice president of Information Technology Services for the university after a national search. Atchley, who joins 经典大瓜 from Oregon State University where she most recently served as information technology services director, will begin July 1 and will work out of the Klamath Falls campus. She replaces current 经典大瓜 associate vice president and CIO, Jim Jones, Ph.D., who announced his retirement last December.

As CIO, Atchley will bring her significant experience in higher education and information technology consulting to provide vision, leadership, integrative management and direction for the University's information systems, and continue 经典大瓜 efforts to promote a leading-edge computing environment for faculty, staff and students. She will also be responsible for institution-wide strategic planning and budgeting for information technologies, and coordination and integration of university information technology across all locations in Klamath Falls, the Portland-Metro campus in Wilsonville, and at sites in Salem and Seattle.

鈥淲e鈥檙e looking forward to Ms. Atchley joining us at 经典大瓜 in this important role,鈥 said Dr. Nagi Naganathan, president of 经典大瓜. 鈥淪he will continue the high quality work begun by her predecessor, Dr. Jones, and will be instrumental in developing our classroom and lab technology as well as our technical infrastructure to support the success of the institution. Connie has the understanding of our institution鈥檚 systems and partnerships to continue our positive trajectory, and we welcome her to 经典大瓜.鈥

Atchley has been with Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, since 2017, serving as information technology services director/university shared services enterprise (USSE) director. She has been responsible for developing and managing the USSE functional teams, budget, software and service agreements; successfully restructured the Information Technology Services team and aligning the departments to increase business efficiency. Before joining OSU, Atchley was global operations project director at Ellucian, and worked with the company beginning in 2011. Atchley also worked previously at OSU in a variety of technical and leadership positions beginning in 1998.

鈥淭hroughout my 10-year relationship with 经典大瓜, I have looked for opportunities to support the institution,鈥 said Atchley. 鈥溇浯蠊镶檚 emphasis on growth, program relevance and becoming a nationally recognized public polytechnic university will rely on strong partnerships among information technology, business units and faculty. I am excited to come on board to be part of that journey with the University.鈥

The position of CIO and associate vice president of Information Technology Services is a department within the Finance and Administration (F&A) division at 经典大瓜. The position works directly with vice president of F&A, Brian Fox, and other senior leaders across the university to align ITS efforts with the University鈥檚 technology goals.

鈥淗aving watched Ms. Atchley鈥檚 leadership with USSE, she has shown an incredible capacity for navigating challenging circumstances by building successful partnerships across organizational boundaries, strengthening her teams and operationalizing strategic goals,鈥 shared vice president Fox. 鈥淲e are pleased to welcome her to the 经典大瓜 team and look forward to benefiting from her extensive knowledge. I want to thank members of the search committee for this successful outcome: search chair Erika Veth and committee members Tony Richey, Stephanie Pope, Troy Scevers, Tracey Coon, Karen Blevins, Farooq Sultan, Aja Bettencourt-McCarthy and Jennifer Kass.鈥

Atchley received a master鈥檚 in Applied Information Management from University of Oregon; and a bachelor鈥檚 in Information Management from Oregon State University.
