Checklist

TECHweb is the portal to all of your 经典大瓜 accounts including Canvas, email and TechStudent. 

You can log in using the Login button at the top of this page or directly at . First-time users should follow the prompts to determine their username and default password. Additional login help is available HERE.

As an 经典大瓜 student you have a university email account. All 经典大瓜 accounts are in firstname.lastname@oit.edu format. If you provided a preferred name then your email account will use that instead. Please download the Outlook app to your phone for easy email access. Faculty and staff use this email to correspond with you; we encourage you to check it regularly.

Please include your name and student ID number in any correspondence with 经典大瓜 faculty and staff.

Financial Aid is available to admitted degree-seeking students. Financial aid information is posted in TechStudent by the Financial Aid office. Please consult with a financial aid counselor if you have specific questions about your aid.

Notify Financial Aid if you are taking between 6 and 12 credits and want to use your aid, or if you are attending summer term. Graduate students should notify Financial Aid if they are between 5 and 9 credits or attending summer. Financial aid does not automatically release for students attending less than full time.

If you are a Non-Degree Seeking student you are not eligible for financial aid but can use the payment plan option available with our Cashier's Office.

A mathematics placement test is needed for incoming degree-seeking students who have not already completed the math requirements for their program. To arrange for your placement exam visit /academics/cares/testing-services/placement-testing.

If you are in a degree completion program you can wait on your placement exam and do not need to take it right away.

The Class Schedule details what courses are offered each term. Course registration is accessed in TechStudent using the  portal.

Degree-seeking students should consult their academic advisor prior to registering for classes. See Advising Contacts for more information. Upon registration in your first course, you will see a $50 matriculation fee on your account. This one-time fee is non-refundable.

Non-degree seeking students can register for their course(s) according to the Registration Schedule without consulting an academic advisor. The advisor pin for non-degree seeking students is nadmit.

You can order your textbooks in TechStudent, by clicking the textbook link from the class schedule, or going directly to the Tech Nest Bookstore. 

The Microsoft Office 365 package is available to 经典大瓜 students . Sign In with your 经典大瓜 credentials. Also recommended are Adobe Reader, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. Canvas, where your classes are, works best with the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari.

Sitting on the couch watching television while writing your assignment on your laptop may sound appealing, but we always recommend you have a quiet, organized place for your studies. Online classes offer some flexibility with your schedule but keep in mind that they are just as intensive as campus-based courses.

Familiarize yourself with the Academic Calendar and Payment/Refund Schedule to ensure you don鈥檛 miss the start of the term or other important dates. Classes are found in Canvas using the portal. Your classes are available in Canvas starting on the first day of term at 8:00am pacific.

Your bill is available two weeks before the term begins, however payment isn't due until after the term starts. The Cashier's Office schedule shows payment due dates, refund deadlines, and more. 

For tuition reimbursement purposes, you can use the Account Summary by Term or Account Detail by Term option in TechStudent. If your employer needs additional information please email your request to cashier@oit.edu.
