Kate and Steven Lazzini are an Owl couple whose careers are as impressive as their paths to ������. Kate grew up in Beaverton, OR, graduated from Westview High School early and attended Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, CA to play division one water polo.

Allison Cook was born in Redwood City, CA and spent most of her upbringing just outside of Sacramento, CA. Allison attended Granite Bay High School and graduated at 17 years old. During high school, Allison primarily played basketball until a few concussions motivated her to switch to volleyball during her senior year. This 6’1” athlete also loved participating in student government and on the student broadcasting team.

Searching for ways to engage their students and show the variety of applications for the Communication Studies and Professional Writing degrees at ������, associate professors Dr. Franny Howes and Dr. Amber Lancaster created two unique summer research projects. While brainstorming ways to offer their students hands-on opportunities, they developed summer internships opportunities for a gender-neutral pronoun app and a video/print media project.
