Matthew Tugg is a student from ������ Portland-Metro who traveled to Cebu Philippines to help install solar panels in areas impacted by Typhoon Rai. A graduate of ������’s Renewable Energy Engineering program, Tugg is currently completing his master’s degree in Robotics, Automation, and Control Engineering. In December 2021, Typhoon Rai, known in the Philippines as Super Typhoon Odette, reached Category 5 and became one of the costliest typhoons in the Philippines’ history.

#ThrowbackThursday kudos to all of the alumni, parents and friends who attended our regional event in Caldwell, Idaho last weekend. Both Hustlin’ Owls basketball teams also stopped by the event after their games at the College of Idaho. Thanks to alumnus Gary Johnston ’89 for sponsoring this annual event. We love supporting our student athletes and meeting alumni in various regions! Our next regional alumni event is on February 4th in Seattle! Join us for a luncheon before we head to cheer on the basketball teams at Northwest University that day.

Conor Roark, Baelie Werner, and Serena Moha are @oit_civil_engineering students who have received impressive accolades this December and are destined to become front runners in the transportation industry. Conor Roark and Baelie Werner were awarded Douglas P. Daniels/Coral Sales Scholarships, which help support transportation engineering students at universities in the Pacific Northwest.
